Cooking with CBD Oil – Fun Recipes to Try

Table of Contents

Cooking with CBD oil is becoming increasingly popular, and you can expect to hear more about it. And it’s not just a great way to eat healthier; it may also be a great way to address the question of how to make CBD oil taste better, which has been gaining a lot of attention recently.

If you would like to experience the benefits of CBD oil by incorporating it into your cuisine rather than simply taking drops or capsules, continue reading. We’ve prepared the ultimate five tips for cooking with cbd oil oil and some fantastic recipes you should try.

Things to have in Mind When Cooking with CBD Oil

It might come as a surprise but cooking with cbd oil isn’t new. It has been used for religious purposes in India since at least the 10th century, probably even earlier. However, the popularity of cooking with the herb skyrocketed in the second half of the 20th century, with all these magical brownies, lollipops, chocolate bars, salad dressings, and other wacky recipes.

Nowadays, there are even plenty of restaurants/cafes that use CBD and where you can taste different delicacies. The best part is – they’re everywhere. For example, we’ve read on an expat blog that there are plenty of excellent Brooklyn restaurants to visit after becoming a resident. So if you ever find yourself in Brooklyn, it’s good to know there are some great places to try out and get inspired on new CBD recipes.

CBD Oil: Health Benefits, Uses, and Side Effects

Five Essential Tips for Cooking with CBD Oil

However, if you want to avoid restaurants and try out your culinary skills, there are some things you need to keep in mind. First, getting a full-spectrum, organic CBD oil is crucial when using it in the kitchen. In most cases, high-quality packaging shows you have a great product on your hands.

Now that you’ve decided on CBD oil, you’ll need to combine it with a fatty or greasy food product so that it may be added to food. Here are the five most important things to keep in mind when cooking with CBD oil:

  • Be mindful of the temperature. It’s damaging to subject CBD to temperatures above 180 degrees Celsius (356 degrees Fahrenheit). CBD products that have been heated past this point will be ineffective.
  • Start with a small dose and slowly increase it until you find it right. There is no “correct” or “standard” amount to take, and each individual needs to experiment with different dosages to determine what works best. So how you use CBD oil is an entirely individual and subjective matter.
  • Be careful how you store your CBD oil. Since CBD is easily damaged by heat and light, keeping it in the dark, cool place is best.
  • Stir the batter well. Incorrectly incorporating CBD into a combination or batter will result in inconsistent dosing or sections of the final product that lack CBD altogether.
  • You can also stir CBD in the end. Although CBD is best absorbed when cooked into a dish, it can be added at the very end if necessary and will still be edible as long as the food is heated.

Recipes for Cooking with CBD Oil

Before we reveal some awesome CBD recipes, we’d first like to recommend that you use much lesser quantities for your few attempts at CBD oil formulations. #1 Parmesan Mashed Potatoes

Using CBD oil is a great way to add a twist to this delicious, traditional dish. You can be certain everyone will ask you about it after your Thanksgiving dinner.

When it comes to ingredients, you’ll need the following:

  • Pre-made mashed potatoes (8 cups)
  • Unsalted butter (2 tbsp)
  • Whipped topping (¼ cup)
  • Parmesan cheese (¼ cup)
  • Salt & pepper (2 teaspoons each)
  • Powdered CBD Isolate (0.16g)

To make this dish, mix the mashed potatoes, butter, whipped cream, parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and CBD isolate in a large mixing bowl fitted with a stand mixer until it’s pureed. In a medium casserole dish, pour the potato puree. Don’t forget to spray the casserole dish with a nonstick spray first. Sprinkle some parmesan cheese on top of the mashed potatoes and pop them in the oven at 400F. Wait until it cools off, and then enjoy!

#2 Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

  • Dark chocolate chips (¾ cup)
  • Almond flour (1 cup)
  • Coconut flour (1 tbsp)
  • Cinnamon powder (1 tbsp)
  • One large egg

Put it in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.

#3 Guacamole

Guacamole is the undisputed king of all condiments served with appetizers, snacks, and main courses in Mexico. Since avocado is primarily fat, it is an excellent base for the CBD oil you intend to add. Plus, it’s suitable for vegans and anyone avoiding gluten.

Here’s what you’ll need to make CBD-infused guacamole:

  • Avocado (3, medium ripe)
  • Lime juice (1 tbsp)
  • Kosher salt (½ tsp)
  • Ground cumin (½ tsp)
  • Two seeded and diced tomatoes
  • ½ Onion
  • Ground cayenne pepper (¼ tsp)
  • One minced garlic clove
  • Fresh cilantro leaves (1 tbsp)
  • ½ Jalapeno pepper
  • One ml of full-spectrum CBD oil

To prepare the avocados, place them in a bowl or mortar and crush them with a fork or pestle. Season with salt, cumin, garlic, cayenne pepper, cilantro, onion, jalapeno, tomatoes, and lime juice.
